Exploring Rauschenberg at The Dallas Public Library

Adult Summer Program Series

Cardboard Sculpture Workshop

Lillian Bradshaw Gallery, 4th floor

Are you a fan of Robert Rauschenberg? Looking for ways to get creative on a small budget? Then join us for Rauschenberg-inspired programs this summer at The DPL!

The Cedars Union is collaborating with the DPL to highlight the library’s permanent collection of art. This summer, we are featuring the work of Texas-born artist Robert Rauschenberg.

Rauschenberg worked in a wide range of mediums that included painting, sculpture, printmaking, and photography over his long career. He pushed the boundaries of art and artmaking by often using easily accessible, low-cost, or “found” materials to create unique works of artistic expression.

This Sunday, June 10th at 2:30pm, join artist Shane Culp for a cardboard workshop to create your own Rauschenberg-like cardboard sculptures.

Come early for a Talk & Tour of the DPL collection, spotlighting Rauschenberg’s mirrored Plexiglass serigraph prints at 1:30pm.

This special summer program series will be held at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in downtown Dallas.
