BERONICA GONZALES

Beronica Gonzales is an artist working in Dallas, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing & Painting with a double minor in Art History and Psychology from the University of North Texas in 2021. Her work explores themes of identity through the depiction of personal moments, objects, and environments that reveal her complicated relationships with the spaces around her.

Throughout Beronica’s work, she addresses intimate ideas of comfort and discomfort, often utilizing materiality to juxtapose her subject matter. She strives to create a unique sense of isolation, detachment, and uncertainty that is a reflection of her own experience.

Beronica’s work has been shown throughout Texas and the United States, with exhibitions including Face to Face: Portraits, Site: Brooklyn Gallery (juror Julia Fiore); 34th annual Materials: Hard + Soft International Contemporary Craft Competition and Exhibition (juror Pablo Barrera); and Texas National 2020 (juror Annette Lawrence).
