HANNAH ROTWEIN

Hannah Rotwein was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Portland, Oregon. Through an expanded painting practice that makes use of everyday objects and materials, she explores identity-formation and the ways history is recorded and passed down through family lore. She is the founder and curator of Post Gallery, an independently run platform that supports emerging artists through bimonthly postcard exhibitions. Rotwein was a 2018 participant in the Land Arts of the American West program at Texas Tech University and a virtual artist in residence at Cel del Nord in Oristà, Spain in the fall of 2021. Recent group exhibitions include It’s Not What You Think at the Visual Arts Center in Austin and Land Arts 2018 at the Museum of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Rotwein earned her BFA in Studio Art and BA in History and Plan II Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. She currently lives in Dallas.
