Basically like xerox printing and screenprinting had a baby! \n  \nBuilt on friendship\, fueled by fun\, Bestu Friendo Co. is the powerhouse duo of Raul Rodriguez and Christopher Machorro\, a Dallas-based collaborative art project where “Create to Have Fun\, Nothing is Off the Table” isn’t just a motto\, it’s a mission. \n  \nFrom pop culture mashups and anime nods to everyday absurdities\, their prints\, zines\, and tees are a fearless fusion of play and process. DESCRIPTION:CU Membership Required \n  \nJoin the CU community on a tour through Jenny Saville’s solo exhibition at the Fort Worth Modern. \nBringing together fifty works made throughout the artist’s career\, this exhibition traces the development of her practice from the 1990s to today\, spotlighting key artworks from her career while exploring her lasting connection to art history. From charcoal drawings to large-scale oil paintings of the human form\, this broadly chronological display includes works that question the conventional and historical notions of female beauty. \nThe exhibition also highlights the monumental nudes that launched Saville to acclaim in 1992 and new ‘portraits’ made for the twenty-first century. What are the tools for building an impactful presence? How do you prioritize your artistic perspective through content? Most importantly\, what tools are needed to strike a balance between your art and content? Stop by The CU and find out! \n  \nAbout Inyang and her artistic practice: “Currently\, my work consists of photographic series that speak to the perspectives of individuals from various backgrounds. My parents heavily encouraged us to embrace and respect all cultures from those we encounter. It became important for me to share stories of those who are often overlooked. Common themes in my work include the vibrant history present truth of Black people\, varying culture across ethnicities\, exploration of identity\, and topics surrounding sexuality. \n  \nMy hope is that through my work\, viewers resonate with those they see in the images and others can develop an appreciation that perhaps was not previously there.”

As the Editor-in-Chief of Glasstire\, an online magazine dedicated to Texas art\, Fuentes contributes reviews\, opinion pieces\, artist profiles\, and interviews\, and manages the publication’s contributors. In 2023\, she received The Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant to support a series of articles highlighting Texas art spaces founded by artists of color\, and in 2025\, she received a Rabkin Foundation Travel Grant. \nIn addition to her roles as Editor-in-Chief at Glasstire and Director of Kinfolk House—a community art space founded by Sedrick and Letitia Huckaby in Fort Worth—Fuentes is deeply engaged in the local art scene. DESCRIPTION:Open to the Public \n  \nJoin us for a two-part lecture on the basics of mural making. Whether it’s questions on logistics\, planning\, business aspects\, materials\, or how to find opportunities\, this lecture will provide you with answers to demystify the medium. Alec\, Shana\, and Ray will talk about their background\, how they got into mural work\, and then share tips and know-how on what to do before you explore this massive public-facing art form. \n  \nAlec Dejesus uses brush and spray paint intuitively to create expressive and surreal artworks with a focus on energetic marks and emotion. All works are created freehand\, allowing the mind and body to directly translate onto the surfaces. He currently works as an independent artist in Dallas\, TX\, and his art focuses on escapism\, focusing on enveloping a very real message of “strength and pride through perseverance” in his vibrant paintings and murals. Working together closely with his wife\, Shana Dejesus\, the two manage a successful art practice and business. \n  \nRay Albarez is a self-taught creator and Dallas native. Ray owns a spray paint delivery company\, co-founded the renowned Trigger Fingers event\, and is employed as a toy design engineer. His work is pervasive in the metroplex and abroad in London\, Paris\, and Spain. Whether he’s painting in the forgotten realms of the city or building the artistic community\, Ray Albarez continues to challenge the viewer and himself with the duality of painting intricate pieces in abandoned locations.

Learn the art of using our state-of-the-art Ettan Etching Press and our miniature Blick press. We will cover press etiquette with a printing plate (intaglio) and a printing block (relief). Discover the unique features of each press and how to make the most of them in your creative process. \nOur knowledgeable Programs Manager\, Taylor\, will be your guide throughout the workshop. Taylor holds an MFA in printmaking from UNT and will provide instruction on setting up\, printing\, and maintaining the press.
