Join Amie Adelman for a hands-on workshop on simple basketry methods. Using triple twining methods, Amie will lead participants through the basics of creating their own woven vessels. Come learn a new skill and a little bit about basketry methods, its history, and unique methods you can apply to your practice!
Amie Adelman is a professor in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas, Denton, where she specializes in fiber arts. She holds an MFA in Fibers from the University of Kansas and a BFA in Fibers from Arizona State University.
Adelman’s extensive research in fiber techniques spans multiple continents. Through various travel grants, her explorations have taken her to Africa, Europe, and South America. Her artwork has been featured in prominent publications such as American Craft, Fiberarts, Fiber Arts Now, and Surface Design. Adelman exhibits her work both nationally and internationally and has participated in several artist-in-residence programs.
