Michelle Hinojosa

Michelle Hinojosa is an artist living and working in the Dallas area. She was born and raised in Austin, Texas and graduated from UNT in 2018. Her large paintings, intimate drawings, and collages serve as a visual record of her intense sensitivities toward events outside her control including the political, the interpersonal and the spiritual. Michelle often uses painting as a way to feel her way through her oftentimes manic thoughts and questions about the world; as a result Michelle’s work serves a somewhat auto-biographical purpose. Along with the personal aim of her work, Michelle also strives to convey a sense of play and exploration, inviting the viewer to be excited by what they can feel within the artwork. Color, line, texture, repetition, and composition come together to create a dialogue between artist and viewer.
