Bao Nghi Ngo (Dallas, TX) is a self-taught, first-generation Asian American artist whose work resonates at the intersection of memory, healing, and vulnerability. Ngo turns introspective and vulnerable moments into universally understood pockets of reflection, encouraging viewers to engage with the shared complexities of the human condition.
A graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry (Magna Cum Laude, Distinguished Honors College Scholar), Ngo’s academic work culminated in the thesis “Lost in Time: An Arts-Based Autoethnographic Inquiry into Traumatic Brain Injuries.” This personal exploration of her own journey with a traumatic brain injury informs much of her art, turning moments of fragility into compelling visual narratives.
Blending historical techniques with modern introspection, Ngo’s art moves beyond personal storytelling to act as a portal for universal reflection. Her work has been exhibited locally at the Dallas Center for Photography, Artspace111, Brazos Gallery, and 500X Gallery as part of juried exhibitions, including the 9th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition, ART214 for Dallas Arts Month, and the Holding Space BIPOC Exhibition.
Currently, Bao Nghi Ngo is embracing experimentation, delving into new mediums and techniques that expand the scope of her storytelling.
