This exhibition is a solo project curated and produced by artist and floral designer, Nadia
Blanton. It presents a body of work that explores femininity and the symbolic language of
nature.
Working primarily in drawing and painting, I use organic forms, flowing linework, and layered
compositions to create images that feel alive and vibrant. I practice reconnecting with the
natural world and draw inspiration from its ever-changing temperament. Oscillating between
definite representational forms and symbolic abstract expression.
Floral and abstract imagery appear throughout the works as a central visual language. I often
consider themes of the earth and the celestial, love, and the small yet profound moments that
define personal narratives. Each work explores the joining of visual art and written word,
specifically through the lens of my poetry. These poems are either directly quoted, subtly
referenced, or echoed through recurring visual motifs.
I am interested in how particular shapes or linework gestures can function like
metaphors—creating lively and kinetic movements. The process starts with writing, sketching,
and photographic documentation to inform the final artworks . I aim to create a cohesive body
of work that is both personal and universally resonant.
