Corridor marks the second phase of an artistic exchange between the Cedars Union and ICOSA Collective. In July 2025, members of the Cedars Union presented an exhibition of selected works, curated by Sean Gaulager, at ICOSA’s gallery in Austin, Texas. For this second phase, ICOSA members have created site-responsive works that engage with the history, architecture, and present-day condition of the historic Boedecker Building. Spanning photography, video, sculpture, installation, painting, and sound, the exhibition considers how a building’s past and present can inform artistic interpretation and experience.
The title Corridor refers both to the I-35 corridor connecting the two collectives and to the hallways and rooms that shape the building’s interior, evoking passage, connection, and the spaces between. Although separated by approximately 200 miles, the Cedars Union and ICOSA share a commitment to supporting artists and creating opportunities for their communities to engage with new work. Corridor celebrates this shared ethos, demonstrating how artistic exchange can bridge geographic distance, connect creative communities, and foster new ways of seeing the places we inhabit.
