More about Julie:

Julie Copoulos is a connector working at the intersection of art, design, and community development, focused on building sustainable local economies through public space activation, housing development, small business support, and community engagement. She works as a bridge between government and community stakeholders to identify resources, support strategic planning, and advance equitable, people-centered development.

Julie has facilitated fundraising, grant writing and led the planning, installation, and stewardship of more than a dozen large-scale public art installations in collaboration with local artists and community members. Through this work, she uses art and engagement to activate shared spaces, strengthen neighborhood identity, and integrate creative practice into everyday public life. Julie has provided hundreds of hours of small business technical assistance and is the co-founder of Small Oven Bakery in Easthampton, MA, where she previously served as owner and head baker.

Working across design, policy, and implementation, Julie translates community needs into actionable projects aligned with public priorities and on-the-ground realities. She holds a Master of Design from the Architecture Department at UMass Amherst, with a focus on spatial design, development finance, and project management. Her work is guided by a belief that art, thoughtful design, and inclusive planning are essential to building resilient, sustainable communities.
