Exhibition Statement:

Katherine Lam and Christina J. Hahn partner to present “Playing a Part” a duo exhibition taking place at the Pink Room of the Boedeker Building, Cedars Union Art Incubator.

Hahn and Lam collaborate in a two week exhibition that translates their roles in their communities into a visual installation: Dissecting both their individual contributions, and what it looks like when collective effort is made.

“Playing a Part” comments on navigating a seemingly contrastive visual landscape with the use of multimedia: a reflection of the wide skillset required to traverse our current artistic ecosystem. The work and act of collaboration itself reflects the artists’ civic responsibility, and the monumental vision they aim to achieve from building an environment from the ground up.
