Join three of Dallas's top muralists, Jeremy Biggers (Stem and Thorn), Hatziel Flores, and Mari Pohlman (Marpohl) and The Cedars Union to create a collaborative mural with a team of fellow high school students. Students will develop a mural around a central theme, learn technical skills for painting murals, and be introduced to the business of working with a site, client, and community for a large scale project. The experience will culminate in a celebration and reception of the accomplished mural on Saturday, June 18th.
Hosted by The Cedars Union and funded in part by the Office of Art and Culture, the program will held from Monday June 13 to Friday June 17th. The 13-14th are held at The Cedars Union on 1219 South Ervay St from 10am to 2pm. The 15th-17th are held from 9am to 2pm at the site of the mural, Dallas Stage Scenery, along the Santa Fe Trail. Lunch will be provided each day and DART fair can be arranged by request. Students must be prepared to work in the heat of the day. We will adhere to CDC rules for June 2022.
