Vignette x The Cedars Union: Women & The Art Market with Sammetria Goodson
June 14, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join Vignette at The Cedars Union for a discussion with arts lawyer Sammetria Goodson about challenges faced by women-identifying artists as they navigate the Art market. Attendees will learn about the connection between intellectual property and multiple income streams, including an overview of copyright and fair use. Topics of discussion will also include observations gleaned from Sammetria’s practice regarding contract negotiations, managing relationships, and starting (and running) art businesses with spouse/partners. Sammetria has walked alongside many women as they navigate the art market – come learn about pathways to a more equitable art world. Light bites and refreshments will be provided. Event begins at 6:00pm, lecture will run from 6:15-7:15pm, Q&A from 7:15-7:30pm, brief tour of the studio hall and networking from 7:30-8:00pm.
